Lolita Fashion

As I mentioned in "About Me", I told you that I will speak about the two styles: Lolita and Harajuku.

I'll start with Lolita.

Lolita is a fashion style and at the same time it is one of the most popular styles that started in Japan and spread to the rest of the world. This style is very popular among adolescents as well as adults around the world.

Lolita style is mostly classified into 3 types: Sweet Lolita, Classic Lolita and Gothic Lolita. Each of them has its magic, colors and defines a certain appearance.

Lolita style allows girls to feel elegant, special, beautiful, no matter which version they approach. The style was noted in the late 1970s when it started being promoted by famous brands such as Pink House, Milk, Angelic by selling clothes that represent it.

As I said it is divided into 3 smaller categories. Once I introduce you each of them, it may be much easier for you to make a difference between them.

The Sweet Lolita is influenced by the Rococo, Victorian and Edwardian styles.

This is impressive by pastel colors such as very light pearls, turquoise, light violet, lilac, orange, yellow, green, but they are all pleasant to sight, they are soft colors and lead to quietness, childhood, "sweet". Of course white and black are not missing, but these are not colors, and you will mostly meet white in combination with one of the colors above.

Besides colors, Sweet lolita has a number of easy-to-recognize prints, which define them largely. Most of these designs suggest innocence, for example: bears, cats, castles, dogs, teapots, etc.

The clothes include dresses, blouses, skirts, trousers, all elegant, very detailed and well-made. The specific accessories are hair accessories, baskets, various bents, various types of boots, prints, sun umbrellas, etc.

The makeup of this style is simple. In principle, the cheekbones are accentuated to appear shy or happy as a child with pink/red cheeks, and often the white pencil is used under the lower eyelid to make eyes bigger.

The Gothic Lolita has a major influence of the Victorian style. In this case, dominant colors are the dark ones, such as purple, blue, and red in combination with black non-color. Clothes can also be only black, this style has various motifs that makes it easy to recognize which include crosses, castles, bats, coffins or other "macabre" models.

The make-up this time is not a simple one, eyes are accentuated with dark colors or mostly black, often exaggerated when it comes to the black outline of the eyes in the idea of enlarging the eye, the lips are colored and mostly red.

The classic Lolita is also influenced by the Rococo, Victorian and Edwardian styles, but is much more mature. Colors can be light ones, but also dark ones too. Based on colors the style is somehow between the sweet and gothic Lolita styles. I did notice some dominant colors like different types of brown, cherry, red and blue. In principle, this is an elegant and sophisticated style that suits people who want a classic and special outfit. The accessories are also hair accessories, gentle, stockings, but have a different design.

On the make-up side, we find it simple. It’s mostly a natural makeup with warm colors like nudes, brown, orange, red,  making the make-up focus on "natural" beauty.

I hope I have been able to make you understand how Lolita looks, what’s with it and why it has become an important style for many people.

In my opinion there is much more to say and much more information to identify, but this is the essential
